These are some of the ThinManager® add-on features that bring functionality to individual Thin Clients. ThinManager Modules operate from the Thin Client management portion of ThinManager, so you can run them on as many or as few Thin Clients as you like.
Instant Failover Module
Instant Failover allows a ThinManager Ready Thin Client to login to two terminal servers at a time. If the first terminal server fails, the Thin Client automatically switches to the session on the second server. The users experience absolutely no downtime or lost work. The Instant Failover module also has an optional hot key toggle so a user can instantly switch between the sessions.
Share Keyboard and Mouse Module
The Share Keyboard and Mouse allows up to 5 Thin Clients to be united with a single mouse and keyboard. The mouse will move seamlessly from one screen to the next and the keyboard will work in each window. This “expanded real estate” is a great help for anyone who needs to monitor multiple applications simultaneously.
MultiMonitor
ACP’s MultiMonitor allows ThinManager users to take advantage of MultiMonitor ThinManager Ready Thin Clients and display up to five screens on a single Thin Client. While a few other Thin Client companies have started to offer multiple monitors, ACP is the first to allow the client to display a different session on each of the screens.
The MultiMonitor module, combined with one of the MultiMonitor capable clients, can be used to span sessions across monitors or run individual sessions on each monitor. Touch screens are also supported, and if using a keyboard the single keyboard entry follows the mouse focus. “Sliding” the mouse off the edge of one screen moves it onto the adjacent screen.
Touch Screen Module
ThinManager’s Touch Screen Module allows ThinManager Ready Thin Clients to perform the same functions as a Windows® PC with a touch screen but with the reliability of a Thin Client. This makes an excellent solution for informational kiosks, security purposes and retail applications. Multiple touchscreens can be run a single thin client.
MultiSession / Applink
Applink allows you to associate an application with a server or a group of servers and have several Clients run that application simultaneously. This gives you the ability to have a network of Clients share the same applications. Multi-Session allows a Client user to operate multiple programs on separate servers at the same time. Once the programs are running, a user can use simple keyboard commands or drop down menus to toggle between them. Users can also “tile” all the sessions on a single screen or configure the client to toggle through the sessions automatically!
Smart Session
Imagine a computer network that can make decisions about how to most effectively allocate its resources. That’s what Smart Session does for your Terminal Server network. As operators randomly use resources, Smart Session decides where to assign users to keep the servers in a group running at peak efficiency. Smart Session’s unique Queuing feature helps administrators manage the terminal server’s processor load by pausing individual clients at the time of login
