Printer Installation

Printers must be installed as a local printer rather than a networked printer, even if the printer resides on the network. If your printer is installed as a Network Printer, Windows will install it on a per user basis instead of making it accessible for everyone. This tutorial will provide step by step instructions on how to install a network printer as a local printer.

Windows 2008 R2

Launch the Add Printer Wizard by going to:

  • Start > Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add Printer.

After the wizard is open, click the "Add a local or network printer as an administrator" option. Click Next to proceed.
