ThinManager Server Wizard

ThinManager (except v2.3.1) allows you to use computer names instead of an IP address forThinManager identification to simplify administration and management, even without using a Domain Name Server . To do this, one defines the ThinManager Servers in the ThinManager Server List Wizard, associating the IP address to a name.

Select ThinManager Server>Server List Management>ThinManager Server List from the ThinManager menu to launch the ThinManager Server List Wizard to define the ThinManager Servers.

The ThinManager Server List is the collection of defined ThinManager Servers. The terminal will communicate with these to keep the connection status lights in the ThinManager tree updated. Adding ThinManager Servers allows network wide monitoring, control, and management.

  • Remove Server clears a highlighted ThinManager Server from the list.
  • Add Server will launch a window that allows the entry of the ThinManager Server name and IP address.
  • Edit Server will launch a window that allows the change of a highlighted ThinManager Server's name or IP address.

Add Server will launch a window that allows the entry of the ThinManager Server name and IP address. This allows the ThinManager servers to be tied to a convenient name without the need of a DNS server. Type the name associated with the ThinManager Server in the ThinManager Server field, add the IP address in the ThinManager Server Address field, and select OK. This adds the ThinManager server to the ThinManager Server list.
